Get Back To The Table

My New York Celebration of Get Back to the Table Month!

Sep 16, 2009

Sara EvansYesterday, I joined Libby’s Vegetables to celebrate Get Back to the Table Month at South Street Seaport in New York! It’s always fun to meet fans, and judging the Libby’s Table-gating Recipe Contest was a great experience! All of the finalists were a delight and I definitely have a lot of new ideas for recipes to make for Jay and the kids when I get home. Everything was delicious, and I want to extend a special congratulations to Karen Fausz, who won a trip to Daytona Beach, FL for her family! My most cherished memories from my childhood took place during family dinners. My mom prepared a home cooked meal every night and there never was any question that we’d all come together at the end of the day to eat and share stories. I just couldn’t imagine not providing the same experience for my own children. As a mom, dinnertime is still a tradition that is near and dear to my heart and there are a lot of benefits to eating as a family. I’ve made it a personal goal to eat dinner at home with my family at least three times a week. You can read my own family dinnertime tips and stories here. Plus, if you haven’t already, listen my version of the classic Libby’s jingle on the Get Back to the Table homepage! And, there is still time to celebrate Get Back to the Table Month with your family! Check out the finalist’s recipes in Libby’s CANvenient Recipe Database and get cooking!
